Transformer Shrink Wrapping

Power and distribution transformers are our specialty. We wrap around bushings, conservators, radiators and control cabinets, heat-sealing the film into a drum-tight skin that protects paint, gaskets and accessories from the factory floor to final energization.

How long does shrink wrapping a transformer take?

Most single units are wrapped, sealed and inspected within a few hours. Fleet projects are scheduled around your production line so wrapping never becomes the bottleneck.

Will the wrap trap moisture against my equipment?

No — that's exactly what proper technique prevents. We install vents and, where needed, desiccant systems so the wrap breathes while keeping rain, spray and dust out.

Can wrapped equipment still be lifted and moved?

Yes. We band and reinforce around lifting points, and can leave rigging access exposed or re-seal after the lift — whatever your transport plan requires.

How long will the wrap last outdoors?

Standard transport film protects for many months; our UV-stable preservation systems are specified for multi-year outdoor storage with periodic inspection.

Do you travel to our site?

Always. Armstrong crews mobilize across the continental United States — to plants, ports, laydown yards and substations.
